Skies are amazing up here on Georgian Bay (off of Lake Huron in northern Ontario). A beautiful sunset last night on the water and some good photos of the sky using just an Olympus OMD-1 SLR and a tracking mount. The trail was from a lone Perseid meteor that flashed by during a 60 second exposure. Don’t forget to see them over the next several nights. Peak rates should be the nights of the 12th and 13th and best time to see them is after midnight. Rates of 60-70 per hour are possible from a dark site given there is no moon in site.
