October annular solar eclipse

You have certainly heard about the total solar eclipse which will be visible across the center of the US next April. There is also a annular eclipse this October where due to the elliptical orbit of the moon, the sun is not completely blocked. This website has a lot of good information about both eclipses and where to see them. There is also an article on Space.com with some recommendations of events surrounding the eclipse. I am thinking about traveling to Utah or Texas to see and photograph the eclipse. It will be a good warmup for the much rarer total solar eclipse next April. Please drop me an email if you would be interested in joining me. If you are a Texan your thoughts on locations would be welcome. The ideal location would be near the center line of maximum annularity, reasonable drive from a major airport and available lodging.
