Baslam was pounded by an intense hail storm yesterday starting around 1:00 PM and lasting for a good 30 minutes. We had piles of hailstones in the yard, on the deck and especially around the downspouts. Leaves on trees were shredded to bits and it sounded like it was raining rocks on our metal roof. Largest stones were about pea size so not big enough to cause major damage unless you were unlucky to be stuck outside. Temperatures plunged from the mid 60’s to 48 degrees in just a few minutes as the high level cold air was driven down along with the hail.
