Bill Nye the Science Guy, is also CEO of the Planetary Society which supports space exploration and educational outreach to “know the cosmos and our place within it”. Ken Bowden has been working to get Bill to visit us for years and it all came together on April 17th when Ken and the Trust invited Bill to give a talk at the Sylva library. Speaking to a packed house of space geeks young and old, Bill told the story of the Society and the importance of space exploration. Later that evening Bill paid a visit to Dogstar Observatory where we gazed at a distant galaxy and generally geeked out on space and science topics.
