It might be happening again! There is a G4 level magnetic storm in progress after multiple coronal mass ejections impacted the Earth. It looks like it may peak during daylight but it would be good to go out and check in the early morning on Tuesday.
I was out looking for Perseids meteors around 1:00 AM this morning and did not see anything but was not looking for aurora. If clouds thin tonight and after moon sets around 12:30 AM in the morning check out views to the north by taking photos with your phone.
